I set this up as an early Father’s Day gift for my dad. This will be a way for both he and his friends and family who stay with him to communicate my dad’s progress as he embarks on his road to recovery. My mom will also set up a calendar to track when people will be staying with him. If you’d like to volunteer to help, check out the calendar page.
I’m glad you shaved your head, RAndy keeps asking me if he can shave his head in support of Rick and I say only if James will do it too!
I am looking forward to house sitting for you Zaisses and maybe even spending some time in Houston. Hey, maybe I can shave my head, too. You - Rick - can wae\\ear your Grumpy hat and I will get one that says Dopey. Let’s get Gary one that says Doc…think he would wear it???
I go to see a surgeon today so we can get started pushing that bad old hiatal hernia back where it belongs and out of my stomach. I think I will ask for a little Liposuction and a tummy tuck while he is in there.
TRacy - I will let you know when I will get to Omaha and you let me know if you need something sooner.
Love to all of you guys
Leslie
I will check my e-mail every day for the latest on yuour treatment and tell you eery day how much I love my wonderful son. Thanks, Zach, for setting this up. Hotter than hell here in Phoenix but I think it’s worse in Houston — it’s the humidity. Love you, Rick. Mom
Just wanted you to know that I am here and will be back often to follow your journey to health.Zach, what a smart and thoughful gift!
I will be waiting to see those pics! lol
Hugs,
Sue
Rick - Keep your great sense of humor and get hugs from everyone. We’re sending lots of ours via atom transfer! You are in our thoughts always. Today is Memorial Day and we’re heading for Prospect Hill to do a Civil War memorial program with about a 37 piece band. Afterwards it’s chicken necks and gizzards at our house. Wish you were here. Gee - I think you’re a hunk bald. Should have done it sooner. Love and hugs and kisses. Vicki and Dave.
Hey Rick! We’re all counting the weeks with you. Can’t wait to see you, with or without your hair (or anyone else’s)! The Peterson’s and the Steffens love you very much, and miss your sweet demeanor and great smile around here. More later. FONDLY, Pete, Pipi, Chris, Adam, and Bo (age 3 months).
Rick: your courage and humor are an inspiration and you look dy-no-mite bald. Good to know you have so much support from so many fans. I’m gratefull to be able to follow your progress with this neat tool that ace Zach has created. Even a tech moron like myself can participate. Pulling for you, my friend. Hang in there and give ‘em hell!!
I finally figured out how to get a comment to you. Think of you all of the time…..and wish we were in good enough shape to drive down just to keep you company for an afternoon.. but alas, as you know we can’t do much of anything anymore. We are however, going to probably the last reunion (for us at least). A little shakey about getting Dale in and out of the car and transferring to bed, commode, etc…….but heck, if you are doing what you are doing, we can certainly accomplish whatever it takes………we will think of you and your family during the reunion. We have such pleasant memories of the wonderful reunion you held last time. Sorry you will miss this one, but just know you will be discussed (your ears will twitch )
Hang in there kiddo……….we’ll see you when it’s all over……….and it will be wonderful then.
Love, Char and Dale
anyone can slay a dragon,he told me,but try waking up every morning and loving the world all over again that’s what take a real hero. Thanks to Brian Andreas for that thought.
Hey Rick, we’ll be in Kansas City this week, so we’ll be just that much closer to you! You’re in our hearts and on our minds (collectively). pete, pip, chris, adam, bo
Dear, dear Rick, forgive any typos–the font size on this makes what I’m typing unreadable. VERY tiny. Oh, well . . . I’m so proud of how bravely you’re walking through this time. It puts Shackleford’s expidition in perspective. His journey was nothing compared to yours! I do keep you and four family in my prayers. You are indeed to have people who love you as much as they do. (Me included, of course!)
I loved the moo joke.
Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
Control Freek.
Cont . . . Now you say, “COntrol Freak”!
Do get well, my friend. Strength, health, and peace to you
